Description:

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Project Management, this position’s responsibilities include managing the financial records of the company, designing and implementing controls, creating and automating reporting packages, streamlining processes and improving overall efficiency.

|
- CMA or CGA designation is preferred with 3 to 5 years experience in a progressive accounting role
- Must have project costing background
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics G.P. is considered an asset
- Familiar working within a multi-currency and multi-divisional environment
|
Responsibilities/
Requirements:
|
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliation's and supporting schedules to be reported to management, the Board of Directors, and externally in coordination with Director of Finance
- Review or prepare monthly recurring entries, project profit recognitions, allocation entries and adjustments to financial ledgers. Review or perform monthly data integrity checks and balancing reports for GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets correcting where required.
- Develop and maintain annual budgets and cash flow projections and provide analysis of variances on a monthly basis
- Prepares monthly Cash Flow reports for distribution
- Reviews bank/account reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Manages, plans and directs the Accounting Organization for the accurate and timely execution of accounting policies and procedures
- Develops and updates internal controls, accounting policies, accounting procedures and accounting interpretations as they impact all projects
- Plans, develops and controls systems for the prompt, accurate and authorized processing of all receivables and payables on behalf of the various projects
- Maintain benefits, process all changes to employee’s benefit status and inform new employees of benefits options
- Develops appropriate payment strategies to optimize the funds available while paying vendors in accordance with contractual obligations
- Perform in-depth review of the monthly project costs and variances
- Project management and adhoc analysis as requested by the Director of Finance
- Preparation and submission of government remittances
