Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for implementing, facilitating and coordinating all human resources functions in this rapidly growing technology company. As the first full time Human Resources leader, this position will work with the senior management team and participate in building a dynamic organization and fulfil the Company’s long-term vision.

This position requires a mature, experienced human resources professional possessing well-developed communication skills and sound business judgment. He/she demonstrates a record of success on large-scale projects together with effective decision-making capabilities.
The successful candidate will be a University graduate, preferably; MBA and CHRP designate. He/she will have a minimum of 10 years of human resources experience in a, manufacturing sector capacity. This experience should include staff budgeting, compensation analysis, performance management, global recruitment, new hire processing, policy development and interpretation, employee/management relations, coach and counsel, workplace investigations and labour relations experience.
The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge in Canadian employment legislation and Canadian employment legislation applications in countries outside of Canada, an understanding of American and National employment standards and legislation as it related to employment and a general knowledge of construction, engineering principles, codes, practices are considered an asset. |
Responsibilities/
Requirements:

- Design, build and implement the human resources department, strategic objectives, policies and procedures;
- Implement, modify, interpret company policies/procedures in accordance with current employment legislation;
- Test Facility/Pre-Construction: responsible for recruitment, selection and interviews to meet manpower requirements (required competencies, budget and timelines);
- Source employment funding;
- New hire process: contract negotiation, welcome letter, orientation, benefits enrolment and new hire process documentation for payroll;
- Facilitate job shadowing programs for new employees; Administer the employee benefit program;
- Coordinate performance reviews and bonus incentives;
- Monitor attendance, vacation and maintain personnel files;
- Design Performance Management System and attend, coach and counsel meetings for performance appraisals;
- Process terminations, retain outplacement;
- Support organizational development, change management, succession management transitioning-provide and present reports to shareholders, partners, senior executives for target meetings;
- Liaise with government affiliates for employment related concerns/issues.
