Description:

Reporting directly to the VP of Global Operations, the primary function of the Director of Operations will be to take daily leadership, management and full operational responsibility for the Company operation in order to meet the facility targets for customer service and retention, growth and profitability. Additionally, you will support positive labour relations to enable a motivated workforce.

Experience:

The successful applicant will combine a minimum of 5 years senior management experience in a wholesale/distribution environment with 3 years experience measuring quality and service levels, utilizing a warehouse management system and utilizing process improvement methodologies.

Previous experience in a DC/MFG/Facility environment combined with experience in change culture, profit and loss, associate relations and US business is an asset.
Education:
Bachelors' degree or equivalent.
Responsibilities/
Requirements:

Management

  • Develop optimum levels of leadership, encouragement and talent development to achieve goals and objectives
  • Responsible for the management of large associate teams
  • Manage, develop and review the performance of the Senior Management Team to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Ensure customer service levels exceed Company requirements through ensuring direct reports are exceeding the defined standards for customer excellence
  • Support and provide oversight with HR to the needs of all departments
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and legislative compliances
  • Deliver results and work effectively in a Matrix style environment

Operations

  • Deliver against quality and budget targets
  • Manage and facilitate new business development by working with sales and marketing departments and communicating with respective teams
  • Create and maintain a safe workplace

Strategy/Profitability

  • Execute a defined strategy for all areas of the business
  • Partner with senior managers and functional leads including attending senior management meetings
  • Oversee planning, development and launch plans for all Company strategies
  • Contribute to budget creation and P&L development on an annual basis
  • Contribute to the development, execution and management of the operational budget.

Research

  • Develop and maintain awareness and knowledge of the eContent markets and requirements
  • Identify opportunities to enhance quality assurance and efficiency through process improvement

Communications

  • Plan collaborate and manage internal communications and awareness of corporate direction
