Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the successful individual will be responsible for coordinating all experimental and development testing programs to be conducted at the Sault Ste Marie (SSM) Technology Demonstrator.

Education/
E xperience:

The ideal candidate will combine a Masters or PHD in Chemical or Process Engineering with previous experience in a related field and knowledge of Aspen software.

Responsibilities/ Requirements:

  • Develop testing plans for the Plant under direction from the Vice-President of Engineering. These test plans will include objectives, schedules and resource requirements as they pertain to specific objectives.
  • Contribute to the analyses of test results by working with on-site personnel, including the operating personnel and any test analysts that are assigned to the test program.
  • Prepare and issue Test Reports for tests conducted at the Plant and will coordinate with the operating personnel and test analysts to ensure that all pertinent data and analyses are appropriately recorded and evaluated for these reports.
  • Define design parameters for the commercial plant design and identify improvements to current design concepts. Any changes to the design concept and any improvements identified will be incorporated into the Company process model to improve ability to model commercial plant proposals. Initially this part of the responsibility will include those job description elements as included in the job description for the Technology Development Engineer.
  • Primary base of operations will be the Corporate Office in St Catharines but being on-site at the Plant in Sault Ste Marie will be required for test preparation, testing and post-test activities and tasks. These will be specific to each test and will be developed as part of the test program development.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned consistent with the overall job responsibilities and specifically as they may relate to contributions to the on-going development of and improvements to the Company proprietary system and process.
