Description:

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & HRIS, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Canadian and U.S. Ceridian payroll systems.

Education/
Experience:

The ideal candidate will combine a formal payroll and accounting education including CPA certification with 3-5 years of previous experience.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a complete understanding of payroll applications, strong organizational, time management and analytical skills and working knowledge of various computer software applications.

Responsibilities/ Requirements:

  • New hire and termination of employees according to the legislative requirements.
  • Completing and verifying all employee changes including salary increases, performance reviews, personal information and  tax information changes.
  • Manual cheque calculation of payments required outside of the normal payroll processing period.
  • Administration of Garnishments, Family Support and Wage Attachments.
  • Administration of the Canadian and U.S. Time and Attendance systems.
  • Required to provide both scheduled and ad-hoc reports to various levels of management.
  • Maintaining confidential employee personnel files.
  • Responsible for communicating with Human Resources Consultants within the company, as well as some Government agencies.
  • Initiate enrollment on behalf of employees in the Sun Life Benefit system.  Trouble-shoot benefit issues as it pertains to payroll.
Salary:
$33,000 to $41,000 annually
