Description:

The successful candidate will direct and supervise operations associated with production, including the safe, efficient and effective operation of the plant in order to meet production, processing and shipping targets and to ensure customer requirements are met.  Operate within budgeted costs and ensure all safety, quality, production and environmental standards are realized with no violation of contracts, polices and in adherence to corporate goals and objectives and government regulations.

Education/
Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory experience in a union environment in combination with an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Material Science or a related field.

Experience in a heavy industrial environement is preferred. An excellent understanding of manufacturing and sound knowledge/background in Health & Safety is required.

Responsibilities/ Requirements:

  • Perform daily customer service order entry function and track and issue on time order reports
  • Ensure on-time delivery of quality product globally while minimizing cost, inventory and waste
  • Implement program for the continuous improvement of customer service
  • Ensure a competent workforce through proper instruction, communications and direction.
  • Assign work to personnel to achieve efficient utilization of labour and maintain on-time delivery performance at targeted
  • Promote safety through the identification and correction of unsafe acts and conditions, good housekeeping practices, and staying in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Responsible for assisting the Environment Department in the environmental safety
  • Identify forms of waste and drive countermeasures to achieve company goals.

Additional information:
Strong communication skills both written and verbal, knowledge of 5S standards and excellent computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office and MRP systems.
