Our client in Southern Ontario is currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of US East Regional Manager.
Reporting to the VP, Manufactured Products, The US East Regional Manager is responsible for overall sales activities and ensuring prompt and effective customer service and support for pumps and mixers within the Eastern U.S for both municipal wastewater and industrial applications. He/she will work closely with the US Application Engineering Group.
Selling activities involve selection, support, training and evaluation of territory representatives, direct selling with the reps on large jobs, obtaining approvals in competitive situations, and conducting sales presentations for consulting engineers and users.
Service & support activities include product selection, interpretation of specifications, quotations, submittals, and after sales service. |

The job requires hands-on, detailed knowledge of the U.S. product lines (Pumps & Mixers) in order to function as a factory service engineer and, when necessary, to perform start-ups and resolve field problems combined with accurate and complete maintenance of the regional database for all customers and representatives. This includes the recording of all activities on the database, including significant phone calls (in and out), inquiries, quotations, submittals, orders and sales call reports.

Responsibilities/
Requirements:
|
- Effective planning; spending a significant amount of time in the field (approximately 50%), visiting representatives, OEM’s, consulting engineers and direct users.
- Pre-planned product training where appropriate, and pre-arranged sales calls with the representative to end users and consulting engineers. All travel planning will be done quarterly, and arrangements will be finalized in the prior quarter. A rep review report will be prepared annually (at a minimum) outlining past performance and setting specific goals for the coming year. Plans will be reviewed with each representative and support activities will be directed at helping the rep meet their goals.
- Customer visits on an as-required basis; to provide direct sales assistance to the representative, to close a job or obtain approval on a large contract, or to supervise start-ups and troubleshooting.
- Direct sales calls without the local representative (or where a rep is not yet appointed) in order to identify and explore new OEMs, major industrial accounts or new applications for our products.
- Preparing and submitting quotations, when necessary, and evaluating and advising on the product selection prior to quote submittal by the US Applications Group.
- Recording quotation status on the CRM database and closing out as ordered or lost; If lost, provide an accurate report on the reason for the loss.
- Ensure that the customer database is properly maintained and accurately utilized including records of important customer contacts. All incidents of service and repair must also be recorded complete with all pertinent details including serial number of the equipment and work performed.
- Advise and assist with the update and maintenance of technical and pricing information for all product catalogues.
- Maintain awareness of market trends and provide input and advice with respect to pricing, advertising, direct mailings, trade shows.
- Assist in the budgeting and preparations for sales meetings and for participation in regional and national trade shows.
