President's Message

As The Burke Group begins its 27th year in business, we take a look at the changes that have taken place since our inception in 1979. The Automotive Industry was booming, General Motors was our largest employer. Suppliers like Hayes Dana, TRW, Columbus McKinnon, Ferranti Packard and Mansfield Denman were all major employers. Court Industries was one of our fastest growing, best kept secrets and Canadian Tire Acceptance Ltd. was quietly spreading its operation all over Welland.

At The Burke Group we have seen our business cover the spectrum of HR from the recruitment of temporary and permanent and executive staff to a full range of human resources and management consulting services. We are especially proud of our outplacement/career transition counselling service, which has yet to realize its full potential.

Under the direction of Blake Cornelius, Senior Career Consultant, this division has the capability and facilities to provide not only outplacement/career transition counselling at all levels of employees, but is also equipped to assist our clients in the areas of recruitment and retention, career development and professional development using a range of assessment tools and action planning to create a custom solution designed specifically to meet the needs of the organization and to deliver desired results.
