I am a newcomer to Canada. I have had over one year and six months of experience as a Recruiter in India. I have a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronics and communication. To continue my career in the HR field, does my experience has any weight or do I need to get a HR Diploma/Certifications here in Canada? If so, what is the best way?

ANSWER:

To continue your career as a Recruiter in the HR area you may not need to look at additional education, as your experience may be enough for some search firms. If you wish to move into other areas of Human Resources, you will have to pursue additional education. Contact a local College to inquire about their Continuing Education programs in Human Resources or contact the Human Resources Professionals of Ontario at www.HRPAO.org for their direction.
