My husband has been out of work for 3 years raising our son, and he has now decided he would like to re-enter the workforce. How does he overcome the the negative impression that most employers have about a father being a stay at home dad.

ANSWER:

He may want to highlight the opportunity to provide leadership and guidance during this three year period. If he is finding it difficult during interviews, he may want to touch base with a coach or a mentor, who can help him formulate answers to some of the tough questions he is being asked. Another suggestion– ease back into the work force through a Temporary Services organization.
