QUESTION:

Can a 'written warning' not placed in your personnel file (kept by your manager) be used in any future discussions wherein the manager who issued and kept the riprimand use it as a reference?


ANSWER:

All documentation issued to an employee should be sent to HR for your file, however if an employee is given a copy of the written warning, the organization may try to use it for future reference.
