Position Description
Our client, Innophos Canada Inc., is hiring a Production Manager to join our growing team. This is a senior level position. In this role, the successful candidate will be leading the daily planning and monitoring of operations affecting production and production goals. The Production Manager provides technical plant support and leadership, ensuring safe operations and safety performance. This candidate will also be supporting the Plant Manager as required.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience – Engineering, Chemical, Manufacturing. P.Eng preferred Minimum 10 years’ experience at a senior level in similar type plant or chemical industry Strong Knowledge of plant operations and different products used – good working knowledge of product and processes and safety measures that are unique and necessary in chemical manufacturing Strong computer skills – spreadsheets, data analysis, report writing Ability to perform as acting Plant Manager, when required.

Requirements
  • Directly leads hourly operations team in all aspects of the plant operation - supervises, schedules, trains, coaches, disciplines dry phosphates and packaging personnel
  • Responsible for coordination of product trials and development of new products and processes
  • Manages reports of non-conforming products and develops corrective actions
  • Management of non-saleable product Plant operation scheduling, preplanning of scheduled shut down time required for work or repairs
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues at the plant Investigates any incidents occurring in the plant – safety, operations, or quality
  • Prepares root cause analysis as required Coordinates plant operations/production with planning and logistics teams Supervises and develops
  • Production Engineer Leads activities or projects that improves safety, quality, cost and productivity Interacts with Corporate Business team as needed for efficient operations
  • Ensures that all operational, EHS, GMP, Food Safety, HACCP and HR guidelines and procedures are understood, communicated and followed
  • Participates on Labour Management Team; negotiations and grievance meetings as necessary
  • Follows all environmental, health and safety protocols
  • Demonstrates management’s commitment to safety Improves work practices and eliminates unsafe conditions to prevent future incidents
  • Provides support for all safety and environmental initiatives
