Our client, a local real estate development company invested in building better communities, is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join their team. They seek a highly motivated Accountant to lead the finance and accounting duties for their Niagara Group projects in and around Thorold. As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for verifying and recording all transactions related to our projects, entering purchase orders into QuickBooks Online, and assisting with the procurement process. In addition, you will prepare standard financial reports, develop KPIs for internal tracking and management, and lead general accounting tasks such as tax filings, bank reconciliations, and issue resolution.
As a key member of our team, you will also be responsible for the following:
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Reconciling bank accounts and other general ledger accounts.
- Assisting with the coordination of the annual audit process.
- Developing and implementing accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy.
- Providing guidance and support to the accounting team.
- Responding to inquiries from stakeholders, partners, vendors, and others, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
We offer a competitive salary plus benefits. This position is full-time, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule. Candidates must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounting, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
