Automation/ Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer position plays a pivotal role in plant operations, ensuring that the plant creates the best products possible in the most efficient manner. This position works with a variety of departments as well as externally to create and implement processes to increase the plant’s efficiency. 

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Understand process control issues and develop control solutions to enhance the process 
• Modify existing automation to add new part types or features
• Program and debug automation cells 
• Troubleshoot production machines, automation cells, and control systems issues 
• Extend start-up support and training for new part types or features
• Work with the Quality department to confirm the effectiveness of testing sequences
• Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification

The successful candidate will require the following skills/experience:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or equivalent work experience 
• Intermediate knowledge of robot programming (Fanuc)
•  Intermediate knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley)
• Experience with Allen Bradley Factory Talk
• Experience with and a good understanding of vision systems - Keyence, Fanuc iRVision
• Experience with RS Logix software
