Director of Operation

Our client, a respected not-for-profit organization, is seeking a Director of Business Operations to provide strategic leadership across finance, operations, information systems, and risk management. This senior role partners closely with the Executive Director and Board to ensure financial sustainability, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead organizational financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audit, and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with all provincial, federal, and funder reporting requirements
• Oversee banking relationships, cash flow, and long-term financial planning
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to the Board and Finance Committee
• Support funding applications and ongoing funder accountability
• Lead and develop Finance and Information Systems teams
• Oversee information systems infrastructure, data security, and technology strategy
• Ensure effective risk management, insurance coverage, and cost controls
• Contribute to facilities planning and capital projects as required

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field
• CPA designation in good standing
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in full-cycle financial management, preferably in a not-for-profit or healthcare environment
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance leadership role
• Strong knowledge of information systems and financial software
• Solid understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation
• Proven leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning skills

• Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
• Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• First Aid/CPR and risk-management related training considered assets
