A local manufacturer specializing in premium, high performance construction products is seeing a Industrial Electrician to oversee electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as new electrical installations. He/she is on call 24 hours per day while the plant is in operation. The Maintenance Electrician reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Primary Responsibility:
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and all related tasks to minimize downtime of production equipment
- React with sense of urgency on all unplanned downtime issues
Tasks:
- Installations, modifications, preventative maintenance and repair work; mechanical and electrical
- Troubleshoot problems with control systems on production equipment
- Repairs on equipment and buildings not associated with the production lines
- Daily reporting, housekeeping and adherence to safety and quality standards
- Observe and anticipate possible problem areas with machinery
- Purchasing, organizing, and managing spare parts inventory
- Recommend improvements to process methods, production equipment regarding safety, efficiency and/or cost savings
- Co-coordinate and oversee work and safety of on-site contractors
- Perform all work in a safe manner and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Keep all work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition at all times
- Report all injuries (no matter how small) in the first aid book
- Complete incident reports in relation to health and safety issues or material spills
- Report and/or contain any hazardous condition or problem
- Wear all mandatory Personal Protective Equipment
- Assist with production when needed
- Complete daily logs and activities reports and any other required documentation
- Occasionally (if requested by supervisor/management) prepare documents
- Provide on the job training to new/junior staff.
- Tasks may change at any time and/or other tasks may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of Co-op Industrial Electrician program or Electrical Engineering Technician program
- Industrial Electrician 442A and Certificate of Qualification
- Minimum 5 years related work experience
- Siemens (S7) 300/500 and 1500 PLC programming & trouble shooting
- AC Frequency S120 Siemens drives
- DC Lenze drives
- Relay logic and motor controls
- Temperature controllers
- HMI
- Some specialized training such as regulatory, health and safety training
- Forklift certificate
- Driver’s license (Class G)
