The Position: We are looking for a Marine Ship Repair Specialist with superior shoreside repair skills to join our team of professionals. The employee will have exposure to challenging and rewarding projects which they will be responsible for leading to success. The position offers the opportunity to learn and immediately grow within the company and will be a hybrid between office responsibilities and hands-on management of projects in the field. We are not looking for sea-going engineers with only shipboard or operation experience, candidates absolutely must have a proven record of hands-on ship repair experience to be considered.  

Qualifications: 

  • Proven track record of extensive hands-on shoreside ship repair experience (machinery, open deck, engine room, general ship repair). Equipment to be worked on includes but is not limited to:

  • unloading fluid drives and gearboxes

  • removing /installing and repairs to all types of pumps

  • Removing /installing alternators and bearings

  • Removing/installing and repairs to gearboxes 

  • Removal and installation of engine overhauls

  • Strong communication and proven teamwork skills 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • First, Second, or Third-Class Marine Engineer is an asset.

  • A naval architect background is an asset. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • On-site, hands-on, and managing shoreside ship repair projects, supporting work across multiple trades and teams made up of 2 – 7 individuals. 

  • Preparing quotes and scheduling work/manpower 

  • Updating customers on projects and maintaining relations 

  • Problem-solving 

  • Ensuring all safety procedures are followed. 

  • Participation in production meetings 

More Details: 

  • The role is considered for immediate growth within the company after proven success. 

  • Hourly rate is subject to a semi-annual review and may be increased based on performance.

  • Significant overtime is available, particularly during the non-navigational season (January – March), and due to the nature of the job, you may be required to work outside of normal business hours during the other months of the year as well (which may include weekends, weeknights, or holidays)
