Our client is looking for a Operations Manager to develop and oversee the operation of our bitcoin mining facility in the Niagara Region. Reporting to the VP Operations, the ideal candidate will be passionate about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and interested in driving growth in a dynamic organization.

Naturally detail-oriented, resourceful, and a self-starter, the Operations Manager will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of developing meticulous processes and procedures while building strong teams from the ground up. Their solution-oriented and pragmatic approach will make complex inventory management a breeze and motivating high-performing productive teams will be second nature to them.

With a touchpoint to every area within operations, the Operations Manager will be high impact, ensuring the efficient utilization of resources while providing steadfast leadership and strategy in a competitive industry.

This is a full-time position with the ability to respond to after-hours issues as needed. Candidates must live (or be willing to relocate) in the Niagara Region.


  • Managing all aspects of operations including people, equipment, and facilities
  • Building internal processes for a growing team in a technical and fast-moving industry
  • Inventory management of all facility equipment and blockchain mining assets
  • Strategic procurement of all required operational equipment (IT, security, facility, maintenance)
  • Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team on the strategic development of operations
  • Overall responsibility for mining operations
  • Scheduling staff for 7 x 24 operations
  • Reporting

  • Building out and expanding mine operations
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the activities of the mine.
  • Lead planning future mine production, overseeing the development of the operation
  • Overseeing the quality of and inspecting the operation with regards to best in practice safety standards.
  • Carry out management duties, such as recruiting staff, organising staff training, overseeing financial administration, and liaising and negotiating with suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement and cost control.
  • Expansion of mining infrastructure and activities.
  • Ensure occupational health and safety guidelines are followed, which includes planning and overseeing maintenance of the mine and developing emergency response plans.
  • Daily operational planning and execution of the mining operation. With this you will need effective and efficient allocation of mining resources as measured by schedule compliance
  • Optimization of the operation
  • Overseeing strategy of the production in short, medium and long term. Not just planning for this year but years in advance.
  • Instilling best practice


  • 4 years experience in operations management within a fast-paced industry
  • Experience developing and executing operational strategy
  • Proven ability to develop operational best practices to ensure efficient, effective and productive use of resources
  • Strength in complex inventory management
  • Experience providing leadership, motivation and direction to a distributed team
  • Previous experience in a start-up environment (or similar) is preferred

  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships in short periods of time with direct reports, colleagues, and suppliers
